This is a fantastic new book by Joel Bennett! Given the profound insights available from this book, I believe this will be a classic for all who want to identify and live their Soul’s love, wisdom, and power.
The Quest for Presence work brings out the wisdom of the ages to become the magic of the
moment. And this requires going inward. Here is an analogy that best describes this shift.
Washing the glass patio door, I faced the common dilemma of determining on which side
the dirt resides. After reviewing the inside, my hunch was that the grime was outside. It
makes sense because most of the soot comes from outside. So, I clean outside as thoroughly as I can. I walk back into the house and realize the dirt really was on the inside

I love this work and the ‘totality’ of it all. It has given me a new perspective of letting go of the things, memories, occasions that do not fulfill my soul, and embrace the beauty and simplicity of presence. There is joy in simplicity of the ordinary – it is bringing me a newfound freedom as I gain a deeper understanding of how my personality attracts to the radiant forces and how the attractions feed the deepest depths of my soul to weave and flow from one force to another.
The idea of time as a tapestry, a precious weave rather than a straight line, immediately resonated with me. Joel takes this idea and shows its many implications. In one of our discussions, each of us had the opportunity to share an application from the book. Mine was the idea to "not take any of it too seriously except for a regular and dedicated practice that enhances your spirit...." For me this has been morning and evening meditation and prayer. Of course, as a serious-minded person, I took to heart the one thing Joel said I should be serious about, and it's really made a difference in my life!
As I progressed through the reading of Quest for Presence, I began to feel an overwhelm of terms and concepts. As I continued to apply the concepts to my life…something other than overwhelm arose…Suddenly, instead of feeling like I had some things to memorize and understand, my experiences began to give rise to an understanding of some of the words and concepts…I could see that merely being present to learning AND experiencing is not complicated but a refreshing way to BE with my life as it unfolds. And having words that reflect the universal forces of the universe in my experience of this happening life enlivens my soul.
The writer of the book of Ecclesiastes reminds us that “for everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” And, given that we are now living in a season of perpetual volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, it is my belief that Dr. Joel Bennett’s Quest for Presence Workshop was divinely inspired for ‘such a time as this’…I am not prone to exaggeration; therefore, it is with all sincerely that I say that Dr. Bennett’s work has dramatically improved the quality of my life.
